Tachograph

Local history recorder for every worktree

7 entries available

Tachograph records the states between commits. It watches every Git worktree, turns changes into snapshots in a separate Git-backed history store, and gives each worktree its own timeline—without adding a single snapshot branch to the project's graph.

The app is worktree-aware by construction: one recorder, one history branch and one timeline per working directory. Roots define where repositories are discovered, and patterns describe how worktrees are named and placed. The recorder orchestrates watchexec and git instead of reimplementing either.

Built as a CGO-free Go binary with a tray icon and an embedded Svelte PWA, Tachograph is local-first: loopback only, no cloud, no telemetry. Restoring a file or a whole worktree never touches the project's commits, index or reflog.
